After watching A LOT of Game of Thrones recently I am totally hooked and plan on building “armies” for the major factions such as the Lannisters, Starks, Tyrells etc. I will probably start with Saga warbands and expand those later in larger armies for other rulesets.
I will use mostly plastic Perry and Fireforge minis and convert some to make them look the part. I’m also going to order the Game of Thrones Art Books so that I can give my armies the look that G.R.R. Martin envisioned when he wrote his books.
So all in all I think I have a solid plan but what would really help is for people that already built GoT armies to show of pics of these troops here. So let us have them please! Any tips etc that you can give me will also be much appreciated. 🙂

Found a German company that produces banners and shield decals for Game of Thrones armies, specifically tailored to fit Perry and Fireforge shields which is what I need of course.
They also sell decals for many other scales and periods so this may be of interest to some of you.
I have placed a first “test” order. Will let you know how that went and report on the quality of the decals when I have them.May 20, 2015 at 8:02 pm #865

My decals and flags have arrived and although they are simple and not as elaborate as for instant the “Little Big Man Studios” transfers they look good. A little detailing after they are applied and they will look excellent.
I have not applied any to a figure yet, will get to that in the next days, so I cannot comment on how easy they are to apply and how resistant the are to wear and tear but I am hopeful.
Will keep you posted.

Tested and approved! Have a look at my “Stark Household Guard” post to see how these decals and flags look on figures.
I did paint over the decals and flag, I always do that to make them look more realistic, but it is not really necessary.
I’m happy with these flags and decals from schildschmie, they saved me a lot of work and time not having to paint every sigil myself.
